Co-Lead Pastor // Defiance Church of the Nazarene

Pastor Terra has been on staff at the Defiance Church of the Nazarene since 2002. For over ​20 years, she has served in various ministries including Worship, Connections, Children, ​Women, and Young Adults here at DCN. Pastor Terra grew up traveling with her family’s ​singing group, “The Singing Fry Family.” She came to Defiance after serving as the Worship ​Leader of Heritage Church, Maumee, Ohio. Pastor Terra is a 1998 graduate of Lourdes College ​with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. She completed the NWO Directed Studies ​Program in 2008, when she became an Ordained Minister in the Church of the Nazarene. ​Terra and her husband Brian were high school sweethearts. They have been married since ​1997. Brian and Terra have two children. Brianna, and her husband Griffin, are both graduates ​of Mount Vernon Nazarene University. Their son, Zachary, currently attends The University of ​Toledo. Pastor Terra, alongside Pastor Scott, were unanimously elected as the Co-Lead ​Pastors of the Defiance Church of the Nazarene in 2022.Pastor Terra’s deepest desire is help ​people know that they are desperately loved by the Almighty, and her greatest joy is to lead ​them into His presence through worship.

Retired Pastor // Defiance Church of the Nazarene

Rev Carol A. (Fry) Retcher began her ministry traveling for seventeen years with “The Singing ​Fry Family.” Countless people came to an altar and gave their lives to Christ through this ​ministry that began with Carol, her father, and her two brothers. She then accepted the call ​to vocational ministry and was ordained in the Church of God in February of 1991, and then ​in the Church of the Nazarene in June of 2005. Carol has ministered to all ages throughout ​her ministry preaching, teaching, leading, and loving like Jesus. Carol has been married to her ​husband, Jerry, for 60 years. Together they have been blessed with three daughters, seven ​wonderful grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Carol’s family is her pride and joy. ​Although retired, Pastor Carol continues to sing, teach, and preach as often as she is able. ​Her heart's desire to share the message of Jesus unti the day He calls her home

Lead Pastor // Heritage Church

Pastor Tonya has been married to her high school sweetheart, Pastor Jim, for 33 years. They have three children, Ashley who is married to Trevor, Chandler, and Jared.

Pastor Tonya has a Bachelor of Science degree from Anderson University and Defiance College. She has an area of concentration in psychology, along with 19 graduate hours. She was ordained in the Church of God Anderson in 1998.

Pastor Tonya has over 28 years of professional experience in the church and in education. She, along with her husband, have pastored in Ohio, Indiana, and Michigan. In those 28+ years, her responsibilities have included: preaching, teaching, leading worship as worship pastor, program planning, women's ministry, children’s ministry, VBS, connection groups, chairing many boards and retreats, guest speaking at various events/churches, visiting hospitals and shut-ins, and officiating weddings and funerals.

Pastor Tonya’s greatest joy is walking beside people and navigating life together. Her heart wants to rejoice with you through the good and hold your hand, when the valley is deep.

Founded in 2022, Encounter is a one-night FREE women’s ​conference where women of all ages come together to laugh, ​cry, worship, fellowship, hear from God‘s word, and most ​importantly, Encounter the savior!

At Encounter, you will know that you are loved endlessly by ​the father. You will join together with women of faith, ​praising his name. You will find your identity and purpose th​rough Jesus Christ. And this year, you will know that you ha​ve a seat at his table.
